Ray-Ban, worn by stars including James Dean, Audrey Hepburn & Michael Jackson… just a small selection of the rock and movie stars to wear this iconic brand.
Ray-Ban began with the infamous Aviator, developed for US Air Force pilots who reported glare from the sun, the Aviator first featured green lenses.
Released to the public in 1937, initially with a plastic frame, the aviator evolved with metal frames, and was still popular when worn by Tom Cruise in the film Top Gun.
Ray-Ban Prescription Glasses
It was in the 1950’s that Hollywood began to have an impact on what was considered trendy. The Wayfarer launched in 1952 & quickly became instantly recognisable after it was adopted by stars including James Dean in 1955’s Rebel Without A Cause, and later in 1961 by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The Wayfarer has gone on to become one of the most iconic fashion accessories ever.
Single Vision Lenses Included
All of our frames are priced with single vision lenses which we will manufacture to your supplied custom prescription, so please consider this when comparing prices elsewhere, as many retailers will only show the price of the frame without lenses.
You can further customise your glasses to make them 100% bespoke to you, by choosing from our range of lens coatings, or ultra thin lens options, or why not choose a coloured tint and turn your glasses into sunglasses!
